  1. Please sign up to the forum everyone, lets make this a valuable recourse for IPv6 related questions and answers.

    Thanks.

  2. I have few questions:
1.Can we provide a single ipv6 cloud to two offices in different cities which have their own ipv4 cloud. If yes how and what will be the services provided and what will be the difference in services if we provide two ipv6 clouds ?

2.How should i distribute ipv6 addresses to two offices at two locations, each getting 500 ipv6 address ? should it be done sequentially like 1 to 500 address to one location or some other scheme is to be followed?

3.what should be addressing scheme if I have 10 SUBNETS each having around 1000 pc ?

  3. 1. One IPv6 could should be fine, aslong as you are registered the same way as with IPv4.
    2. Its up to you how you want to assign the addresses, there is no right and wrong way.
    3. You should only need one subnet. What you should get is….

[64 bits for the prefix] [ 16 bits for subnets ] [ 64 bit unique identifier] > this makes up the 128 bit address you can use.

16bits allows you to create 65,500 subnets per address. Therefore, you could even just use one subnet for all nodes. However, it would be wise to split them up for documentation.

    I hope this helps.
